Unveiling the Cosmic Architecture of Creation through the Wisdom of Torah

Is the Torah merely a book of laws and stories—or is it something far more? In Jewish mystical tradition, the Torah is not just divine instruction—it is the very blueprint of creation itself. This foundational course explores how the Torah precedes, sustains, and permeates all levels of existence, functioning as both the architectural plan and spiritual DNA of the universe.

Drawing from the profound teachings of two masterful sources—Derech Hashem (The Way of God) by Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzatto (Ramchal) and Torah and the Self by Rabbi Akiva Tatz—students will uncover how the Torah encodes the deepest metaphysical structures of the soul, time, and cosmos. While Rabbi Tatz presents modern, philosophical clarity, the Ramchal delivers a systematic theological map of how the Torah underlies divine providence, spiritual causality, and the structure of reality.

This course will explore:

  • The Torah as preexistent wisdom: "God looked into the Torah and created the world"

  • The correspondence between the structure of the soul and the letters of Torah

  • Time, history, and prophecy as flowing from the Torah’s divine design

  • The Torah as a mirror of higher worlds and the inner blueprint of man

  • The mystical meaning of mitzvot and how they activate cosmic channels

  • The secret of the Hebrew letters and their creative power

  • The role of Israel and humanity in manifesting the Torah in the lower worlds

  • Ramchal’s framework of divine order, purpose, and soul correction as rooted in Torah

This class is ideal for anyone seeking to move beyond surface-level readings and enter a worldview where every detail of the Torah is a portal into divine intelligence and design. By the end of the course, students will not only understand Torah as a spiritual architecture—they will begin to experience life through its lens.

Course Workload and Expectations

This is a 3-credit, 12-week seminary-level course requiring approximately 6–9 hours of study per week. The course is designed to support both academic rigor and spiritual integration, guiding students through deep philosophical and mystical material rooted in Torah.

Weekly workload includes:

  • Assigned readings from Derech Hashem by the Ramchal and Torah and the Self by Rabbi Akiva Tatz

  • Video lectures unpacking complex theological and Kabbalistic ideas in a structured and accessible format

  • Written assignments and study questions to help process key ideas and link them to Torah sources

  • Short essays or reflection papers synthesizing classical texts with personal spiritual insight

  • Journaling exercises exploring how Torah serves as a divine pattern in personal life

  • Weekly group check-ins or written reflections submitted to the course administrator

  • A final integrative project that may include an analytical paper, creative presentation, or Torah-based teaching outline

Students are expected to engage deeply with the material, demonstrate thoughtful interpretation, and actively apply core concepts to their understanding of Torah and spiritual life. This course bridges intellectual understanding with inner transformation—an essential dynamic of true Kabbalistic study.

This course is also available for 100% online, self-paced personal study, and may be purchased individually for those seeking personal spiritual growth and character development outside of a formal degree program. Mentorship is available for this course at an additional cost.
