Revealing the Facets of the Divine through Sacred Language and Mystical Understanding
In the Torah and Kabbalah, the Divine is not referred to by a single name, but by many—each expressing a unique aspect of God's will, attribute, or presence in creation. These Names of God are more than labels; they are living channels of energy, spiritual pathways through which the Infinite interacts with the finite world.
This course explores the inner meanings, functions, and mystical roles of the Names of God as taught by the great Kabbalists. Using The Power of the Divine Name by Rabbi Dov Ber Pinson as the primary textbook, students will gain both a theological foundation and a practical spiritual toolkit for connecting to the Divine through language. Supplementary study from Shaarei Orah, Zohar, and Etz Chaim will deepen the understanding of how each Name corresponds to specific Sefirot, divine actions, and inner states of consciousness.
In this course, students will explore:
The difference between the essential Name (YHVH) and Names of manifestation (Elokim, Eheyeh, Shaddai, etc.)
The structure and meaning of the 72-letter Name and its roots in the Exodus
The 42-letter Name (Ana B’Koach) and its use in meditative prayer
How the Names of God correspond to the Sefirot and the Four Worlds
The use of divine Names in prayer, protection, healing, and intention (kavanah)
The halachic and mystical rules of pronunciation, writing, and reverence
The spiritual significance of the Hebrew letters within each Name
How knowing the Names of God enhances one’s understanding of divine providence and soul purpose
This course serves as both an intellectual and devotional journey into the sacred architecture of divine speech. Ideal for students of Kabbalah, Hebrew, and prayer, it opens the door to experiencing God not only through study—but through language, vibration, and consciousness.
